Heidi Suzanne Cruz: Sen. Ted Cruz's Wife

Heidi Suzanne Cruz (Heidi Cruz) is an investment banker, a seasoned public servant, and a half politician. Moreover, she is the wife of Texas Senator Ted Cruz.

Heidi Cruz was born as "Heidi Suzanne Nelson" in San Luis Obispo, California, US on August 7, 1972. Both her parents, Peter Christian Nelson and Suzanne Jane, are dentists. She was raised as a Seventh-day Adventist.

Heidi Cruz started her primary education Valley View Adventist Academy in Arroyo Grande, California. She completed her secondary education in 1990 at Monterey Bay Academy in La Selva Beach, California. In 1994, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Economics and International Relations from Claremont McKenna College, California. She received a Masters of European Business degree from Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management of the Université libre de Bruxelles in Brussels, Belgium in 1995. She also received a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School in 2000.

In 2000, Heidi Cruz worked as an economic policy advisor for the "Bush-Cheney 2000" presidential campaign. During this period, she met Ted Cruz who was also working for Bush campaign. In 2003-2004, she was a director of the western hemisphere at the National security Council. From 2005 to 2012, she was the vice president at Goldman, Sachs & Co. In 2016, she took a leave of absence without pay to participate in her husband's 2016 presidential campaign. Presently, she worked as the managing director of Goldman, Sachs & Co. in the Houston, Texas Area.
