A New ABC/Washington Poll Shows High Interest And Advantages or Democrats
While President Trump's approval rating has increased to 41% from 36% since August, Democratic House candidates still lead Republicans 53% over 42% among voters ahead of the midterms, according to a new ABC News/Washington Post poll. That is slightly lower than in August when the Democratic advantage was 14 points.
Among voters who prefer Democratic candidates for the House seat, 81% say they are certain to vote, up from 60% in 2014. Among those who support Republican candidates for the House, enthusiasm now stands at 76%, compared with 73% in October 2014.
Those registered voters who describe themselves as independents favor Democrats by 52 percent to 38 percent.
Democrats need to flip 24 Republican seats to take back the House.
