In 2017, U.S. exports of goods and services to Brazil were $63.5 billion, up 17.8% from 2016, and imports from Brazil were $35.0 billion, up 8.2% from 2016. As a result, the trade surplus with Brazil increased to $28.5 billion. In 2017, exports to Brazil accounted for 2.7% of total U.S. exports, and imports from Brazil accounted for 1.2% of total U.S. imports. Exports were led by industrial supplies and materials, which accounted for 27.8% of U.S. exports to Brazil, and imports were led by industrial supplies and materials, which accounted for 42.5% of U.S. imports from Brazil.
